Minced fresh chives, smoked paprika, onion and garlic powder mixed into sour cream and mayonnaise with fresh potato chips

It make me so happy when my garden starts producing food! I think every year I plant fully expecting nothing to grow so I get so excited when I can eat anything out of my garden!!!

The kids have been snatching peas and pulling fresh (tiny) carrots a lot! Can’t get them to eat them out of the store but rubbing dirt off, yes please!!

These chives were so crisp and fresh they made a wonderful dip! Both chives or garlic chives would work wonderful in this recipe, I used plain chives as I think they are easier to find if you’re not growing them yourself!  I love them because they are milder than green onions so not so overwhelming!

Making Fresh Sour Cream and Chive Dip

This dip can’t get any easier to make. Sour cream, I usually use 5% milk fat because it isn’t too thick but not too watered down. You can use low fat if you prefer it will taste great still.

Fresh Mayonnaise gives it a good tangy flavour. Again you can use low fat or any kind you normally like!

Fresh tender chives diced up very small.  Mix in some garlic powder, onion powder, paprika and salt and pepper to taste.

It can be served immediately or covered and refrigerated a few hours before serving.  It tastes delicious with fresh carrots, peas, or your favourite chips or crackers!  Try on baked or smashed baby potatoes, fresh baked or deep fried potato chips or on a salad or in a salad wrap for a fresh delicious flavour!
